"Heap harmonic dance" as a famous folk dance with more than 700 years history is widely popular in Tibet, especially in Lhatse County. "Heap harmonic dance" and "Gorchom circle dance" have been listed in the state-level intangible cultural heritage.
In early 1950s, the Tibetan folk literary and art workers had published "Tibetan Folk Songs", a collection of Tibetan folk songs, music, dances and stories. In the end of 70s, over 20 million words information, a large number of audio information, and nearly 10 thousand photos about Tibetan folk culture had been collected among towns, villages and monasteries.
The inheritance and development of Tibetan art and culture could be due to the great supports from both central government and Tibet Autonomous Region government.
