"Zhang Jingwu and the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet", a picture album in Enlgish, introducing Zhang Jinwu and his great work in his 15 years' stay in Tibet, is to face readers with a large amount of precious high-quality photos in March 2009.

Chairman Mao met the 14th Dalai Lama and the 11th Panchen Erdeni Qoigyi Gyibo.
As the frist high-ranking military officer of the CPC entering Tibet, the founder, organizer and pioneer of Tibet's revolutionary and construction undertakings, Zhang Jingwu was once remarked by Chairman Mao Zedong as not only the representative of the Central People's Government, but also a representative of the Communist Party of China(CPC) and Zhang was the also the only representative from the Central People's Government in Tibet appointed by the CPC.
Zhang Jinwu had contributed to Tibet a lot because of his great work. He had the first Red Flag erected on the top of the wall of Lhasa City, announcing to the whole world that Tibet belonged to China as well as to Tibetans; he led the working staff of the Central People's Government and the PLA officers and men to enter Tibet; he worked with Tibetans to achieve a great leap forward in abolishing the feudal serfdom and building socialist system; he fostered a great batch of ethnic carders; he patiently united and educated the patriotic personages from the upper class, making headway in Tibet's economic development and cultural drive in a planned and systematic manner, which guaranteed the implementation of the CPC's working policies in Tibet and maintained the unity of China's territory and sovereignty and safeguarded the southwestern borders of China.
The Chinese edition of "Zhang Jingwu and the Peaceful Liberation of Tibet" had been published in September 2006. Four thousand volumes of the first edition were sold out in 6 months. Reprinted at the end of 2007, it was awarded the first prize of the Chinese Communist Party's historical works in the same year.
This album reveals for the first time a good many of historical photos and written documents. They are of profound historical significance, and the figures are tested in details, therefore, the album is full of large numbers of Tibetan historical figures in the history of the Communist Party of China.
