We had a very busy day today (Thursday), visiting a lot of places in Lhasa.

The highlight of today's visit must be the Potala Palace. People always associated the famous building with Tibet and the culture and people there. It's the UNESCO heritage site, and a very impressive place.

We visited the Palace this morning. It was quite hard to climb up all the stairs. We all managed to get the top. But we went very slowly in case of any mountain sickness. It's fantastic when we finally got there.

The Palace looks wonderful. All the rooms and statues in it were beautiful. It's happy to see a lot of renovation and improvement over the last 20 years.

We had two visits in the afternoon. We were impressed with the classes and the keen of the school students during the visit to the Second Primary School of the Chengguan District.

There, we went to an English class, which was quite fun. The teacher was interacting with the class all the time. She was getting the students to answer questions. And the students get a round of applauds when their classmates got the right answers. They were very keen to learn the language.

I brought with me an English book, "The Bronte Country", as a gift for the lively students. It has many pictures in it. I hope that they could see how beautiful the country I live in.

We then went to the pharmaceutical factory where the Tibetan medicine was made. It was very lucky for us to go in to part of the factory and see people making and packing the medicine. The display room exhibited different types of materials they use as medicine and some wonderful diagram as well.

We had to dress very hygienically, wearing overshoes, white medical uniform and hair covering when visiting the product line. We were all doctors for a little while.
