The 8th Qomolangma Culture and Tourism Festival is set to open on Aug. 26 in southwestern Tibet's Xigaze Prefecture.

The festival, started in 2001, has become a major platform for Xigaze to showcase its economic and social development and enhance its fame.

During the three-day festival, a series of cultural events will be held, including a photo exhibition, art performance, and the display of tourism and folk customs and crafts.

Also held will be a signing ceremony for trade and investment promotion, a real estate and car sales exhibition.
