Listed as an intangible cultural heritage of Qinghai Province, the Guinan Tibetan embroidery, also known as Guinan's "needlework," is a traditional embroidery craft by local women featuring decorative Tibetan patterns.

In the interest of better protection, inheritation and development of Tibetan embroidery, local government of Guinan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture collected 3.25 million yuan to set up a comprehensive industry area of Tibetan embroidery ranging from training, design, thread distribution, production to exhibition, as well as three county-leval Tibetan embroidery centers, 10 village-level production centers in recent years.

By now, the Tibetan embroidery has won a wide market at home and abroad. Besides, it has become a main way to enhance the income of local women in Guinan and over 1,100 women have been attracted to this area with an annual income over 8,000 yuan.
