Bird's eye view of Potala Palace

Photo shows the 13-storey Potala Palace towering on the Red Hill at an altitude of 3,700 m, in Tibet's capital of Lhasa. Potala is Tibetan transliteration of the Sanskrit word Potalaka, meaning Mt. Putuo, which is considered the place of Kwan-yin Bodhisattva (Goddess of Mercy). Tibet's 110-m-high landmark building looks so imposing against the blue sky. (Photo Source tibet.cn)
