A total of 4,000 rural women in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, found jobs in 2009, according to the Lhasa City Women's Federation.
Last year, the federation held training courses in catering, cleaning, dancing, driving, tree and grass planting and livestock breeding, as well as handicraft making for the women in Lhasa's rural areas.

Specifically, the federation held three one-month training courses in catering, cleaning and the Gorchom circle dancing in Damxung Nyemo County in 2009. All the 70 trainees found jobs later, with their per-capita monthly income reaching 700 yuan RMB.
It had organized 20 women from needy families in Chengguan District and Quxu County to attend a leathercraft-making training course. The products are selling well in major cities in China and other countries.
The federation had also offered reemployment guidance to 1,000 women in Doilungdeqen County and Quxu County.
The Women's Federation of Doilungdeqen County held two six-month driving training courses, with all the 55 female trainees obtaining their driver licenses.
The women's federations of the seven counties and one district administered by the Lhasa City have trained altogether 2,700 women in the past year.
Moreover, the Lhasa City Women's Federation had organized 100 women to receive training in hotel services, ethnic folk customs, security, cashier skill and cleaning, with all the trainees getting job qualification certificates and 90 percent of them employed.
