Active measures benefit low-income people's festival life

Photo shows a Tibetan grandma is smiling with her grandson in Chengguan district of Lhasa, capital of Tibet.

With festival approaching, series measures will be implemented in Tibet to improve the pensions for retirees, to raise the minimum living standard of urban and rural residents and to release allowances for the needy people.

The average pension for retirees will increase 209 yuan on the basis of 1,956 yuan per month. At the same time, 600 yuan shopping coupon will be handed out for per person.

The minimum living standard for urban residents will rise from 310 yuan to 330 yuan monthly. For those rural households enjoying the five guarantees, the yearly subsidy will increase from 1,800 yuan to 2,000 yuan.

Meanwhile, the necessary living goods will be sent to needy families, orphanages and homes for the elderly.
